Global policies can be created from the Global Policies interfaces independently of API Proxies or from within the Development Tab of an API Proxy. A global policy can be used by zero or more API Proxies.
When an API Proxy is deleted, the global policies used by that API Proxy are not affected. However, any update to the global policy affects all API Proxies that use that policy.

Global Policies Deploy Operation
The Global Policies Deploy operation enables the deployment of API proxies and API Proxy groups using a global policy group to a specific working environment. This process allows users to select which global policy will run in which environment and monitor the completion status of the operation.
Once the deployment process is completed, a results screen called Deployment Results is presented to the user. This screen includes all the details and the outcome of the operation. It provides information such as the environment where the operation was performed, the pod used, the pod's IP address, the status of the operation (e.g., successful or failed), detailed explanations, and the operation's completion time.

Globalizing Local Politics
You can make the policy you create a global policy by clicking the Add The Policy As a Global Policy button in the upper right area of any policy you create while in the Development tab of API Proxy and entering a name in the Name field that opens.
The picture below shows the settings for converting the policy to a global form over the locally set Basic Authentication policy:
